Dead Silence

What do you get when you take a dead ventriloquist, a Doll, and a murder, and put them all together? Dead Silence!

OK, before you think that another Horror movie with a blood thirsty killing doll, stop. This is no Chucky from Child’s Play, or Dolls movie. I know that watching somebody get the crap beat out of them or killed by a 3 foot puppet is insane if not a bit funny, but you won’t see any serial killing dolls in this movie.

After receiving a weird package with the doll named Billy, Jamie’s wife is murdered and he believes Mary Shaw and Billy are behind it. Destined to find out the truth, Jamie goes to the town of Raven’s Fair where the ventriloquist Mary Shaw used to perform and is buried. But Jamie is in for more than he expected.

At first I though this was going to be your typical ‘B’ class movie and it would be something to just pass the time with, but to my surprise, it wasn’t. It was actually good.

It does have the typical, stupid people that will go into places and end up getting themselves killed, instead of smart people who would Get The Heck Outta’ Dodge the first sign of scary and weird situations. But then if it did have them, the movie would be kinda’ short now wouldn’t it?

For example, watch the following clip. What small boy in his right mind would do this?

Now, I don’t know about most of the guys out there, but going into a dark scary place with dead bodies wouldn’t be on my list of things to do. But this is sort of thing you need to take with a grain of salt. Nobody in real life would do the things people do in Horror Movies, if they did we would be extinct. Now it’s going to be out on June 26th, so when it does, I would actually grab a copy if not to just rent it out. It’s better than your typical Horror type movie. There is actually a story you can follow, and it’s not over done with extreme mutilation and gore. It’s tasteful as far as Horror movies go.

So I guess I’m saying that I would recommend this as a rental or purchase on DVD this month.
